Navy yard shooter video Released

So like many of you, I woke up to the news that there was a mass shooting at the Washington navy yard last week. Aaron Alexis was a government contractor who killed 12 people. According to new details he believed that he was controlled by low- frequency radio waves. Now my issue with this is that they released the video. Yes, I am as noisy as can be and like getting some insider video. However, I don’t think this video should have been released. I understand that they believe it could help the public but I don’t see it. In my humble opinion I think the government and other outlets have crossed the line by releasing the video. I understand that they didn’t release people actually getting shot but this VIDEO SHOULD HAVE STAYED PRIVATE. I think for one it may have been too soon for the deceased family and also I just think it’s showing this crazy man pouncing around before he went on his killing spree taking 12 innocent people’s lives. I don’t think there is anything positive or lessons that could be learned from the video. So what do you think? Do we need to see this video or should they have kept the video private.

Below is a link were you can check out the video; That has been released. I Don't ;like it being out here but now it doesn't matter because it's everywhere. so here you go so you can have a clear opinion

  1. There will always be debate on how and what the media should release in these kinds of incidences. I think that many people's thinking is watch it if you want or don't, but that is not the real issue. I have my own opinions about these things, but I think it is important to remember that America is one of the more censored media outlets in the world. We are more liberal with our social laws than most countries too. In fact, there is a documentary on Al Jeezera called Control Room. Take it with a grain of salt since it is Al Jeezera's way of looking at things and there is a point of view from everyone, but more importantly they say one of the main differences between their middle eastern non-state run (important to remember) news outlet is that they are way more revealing to what is really happening. Whether these images shown are from the actual event...(like I said we have to take it with a grain of salt) these people really are injured and are being shown on television. Some other things they wouldn't dare show, but in regards to violence ... it's all over. So I think it really depends on culture in the end, and these different reactions show that America is right in the middle of this tricky situation of video releases.
